This is part of the Unesco program called the "Slave Route" which was launched in 1994 in Ouidah, Benin.  The goal is to put an end to the silence around the slave trade and slavery.

Côte d'Ivoire intends to take ownership of this program to highlight the multiple transformations and cultural legacies generated by this tragedy. On this occasion, a delegation of the Boni people of Guyana will be present.
