Mariam Dao Gabala is the West African Representative for Oikocredit International. In the twenty years she has been working for Oikocredit, Ms Dao developed the region's microfinance and social enterprise portfolio, which include grass roots organizations with women engaged in food security. Prior to joining Oikocredit, she worked as finance manager of CIGE and as an international consultant with the African Development Bank, the ILO and the World Bank. She is a graduate of the national business School ESCA in Ivory Coast and holds post-graduate degrees in finance from acclaimed institutions in Europe and Canada. An Ivory Coast national, she is particularly committed to promoting the financial inclusion of women and developing women leadership at all levels of African society.

Mariam Dao has received several prestigious awards for her work in development.

Oikocredit is a development finance organization which provides credit and equity to microfinance institutions, agricultural and trade cooperatives, fair trade organizations and other small-to-medium sized enterprises.
