Customs Regulations

 

 

Household goods are duty free if they have been in the possession and use for at least six months before shipping. However one should obtain a Certificate for Free Entry from the Customs Head Office. This certificate should arrive 15 days prior to the arrival of the ground shipment. In addition, an original airway bill or a bill of lading is required for any goods being imported into the Country.

 

You should be aware that right hand vehicles are prohibited in Côte d’Ivoire.

Since 2017, Côte d'Ivoire only allows the import of second-hand cars not older than 5 years.

 

An unlimited amount of local currency can be imported into the country by locals and visitors. Other currencies also have an unlimited amount but will need to be declared when entering or leaving the country. Locals are required to convert all foreign currency into local money within eight days of entering the Country.

 

Shipping pets to Côte d'Ivoire requires a Veterinary Health Certificate, or equivalent, and may involve a quarantine period.

 

Port of Abidjan (Port Autonome d'Abidjan)

  6. The industrial area of Vridi, for chemical and petrochemical, food processing, metallurgical and electric activities
  7. The Vridi area, for housing and tourist trade
